Child Care
Children are future of any society or nation. Ensuring all aspects of childcare will lead to all round development of the society. We recognize this vital issue and made childcare as one of its focus areas. Childcare has many aspects including the following:
• Providing food, shelter and education
• Providing medical facilities
• Providing cultural values to make them responsible citizens
• Providing healthy environment for physical and mental growth

We support childcare projects like:
• Orphanage homes for destitute children
• Daycare programs
• Special education programs for mentally retarded and physically handicapped children (Special children)

Women Empowerment
Women constitute the very backbone of the family. Women have to play multiple roles: a mother, a wife and a host of other roles simultaneously. We support projects that work towards empowering women to strengthen the backbone of the family and the society.
Women empowerment projects typically consist of the following:
• Women-focused educational institutions
• Vocational training centers
• Adult education centers focusing on health and sanitation
• Culture and heritage

Family - the ultimate beneficiary
Every family is dependent on the woman, who is the lady of the house. Children look up to their mother for guidance on social, cultural, educational and religious values. The husband depends on the woman for every aspect of the family life. Empowering women will lead to a well-balanced family structure, which is vital for proper growth of the society.

Education
Since the age of Vedas, education is very much instrumental in the development of the society. It is true in today’s knowledge economy as well. We give special emphasis on projects that impart education to the poor children. Education is a key instrument in realizing TheGCT.org’s dream of creating self-help for the poor, so that they become dignified and responsible citizens of India.
Our projects in education are typically the following:
• Constructing schools
• Help for operating schools
• Providing free education for poor and orphan children
• Providing special instruction for mentally retarded children
• Help for acquiring computers and other teaching aids for children
• Schools for rural and tribal children

Beneficiaries
Even though it appears that children are getting benefited from these projects, ultimately the next generation of India is getting benefited. Educated and literate children become lawyers, doctors, engineers, scientists, teachers, farmers, businessmen and politicians for future India.

Healthcare
Having access to healthcare facilities is a basic expectation for any society. Various disease prevention methods can help reduce overall costs for healthcare. We support various projects that provide healthcare in rural areas, towns and cities to the people who cannot afford to go to for-profit healthcare establishments.
Our healthcare projects include the following:
• Utility services to Hospitals/Orphanages
• Mobile medical vans
• Hospitals in rural and tribal areas
• Medical research institutions focusing on specific diseases such as Cancer
• Ayurveda hospitals and research institutions
• Yoga therapy institutions

Beneficiaries
Most our supported healthcare projects provide free medical relief, health checkup and perform medical procedures such as eye surgeries to all patients irrespective of their caste, religion, gender or any other differences. Projects serving a disaster area will focus on preventing diseases, which means providing appropriate vaccinations to all the people who live in the disaster area. Many projects are run continuously for years by committed NGOs.

Tribal Welfare
In various parts of India, there are several tribal areas, which receive little or no focus from local, state and national governments of India. These areas are quite remote typically accessible only by walk for at least a couple of days. For decades, these tribal areas are neglected in all aspects of development: education, healthcare, basic amenities and economic development. Without development in tribal areas, India cannot experience all round development. TheGct.org will take upon many tribal welfare projects through its NGO partners who are committed to bringing development activities to the remote corners of India.
• Typical tribal welfare projects
• One-teacher schools (education)
• Mobile medical vans (healthcare)
• Sanitation education
• Indigenous methods for economic methods
• Teaching modern farming techniques
• Adoption of remote tribal villages for all-round economic development·
• Facilitating student exchange programs
• Preserving culture and heritage of tribal’s while facilitating assimilation of tribal’s into mainstream India

Relief
Relief Activities for Natural Calamities
Providing relief to victims of disasters such as cyclones and earthquakes is an important component of TheGCT.org’s mission. We will also work towards providing relief for victims of man-made calamities such as Kargil war and terrorist attacks, which are heinous crimes being perpetrated against India.

Focus
Our focus in relief operations is to quickly fund relief efforts, partner with other Indo-American organizations to raise funds for victims and plan for sustained Rehabilitation of victims.

Relief Operations
TheGCT.org partners with NGOs that are directly involved in relief work. We provide monetary assistance to NGOs to enable the following:
• Organize psychiatric counseling for the victims
• Run relief camps
• Provide medical aid
• Feed victims, provide rations
• Provide essentials such as clothing, blankets
• Provide blood donations for the injured

TheGct.org will rise to occasion and provide monetary assistance to various unfortunate disasters in the state. Some relief activities in which we will provide assistance include (in descending chronological order):
• Earthquake
• Cyclone
• Tsunami
• War
• Terror attack

In responding to the needs of disaster victims, we will work with various Indo-American organizations to raise funds in shortest timeframe. We will fund relief activities from its general pool of funds designated for development projects.

Rehabilitation
Rehabilitation of Disaster Victims
After the temporary relief for disaster victims, it is quite important to plan for rehabilitation and long-term development of disaster-affected areas. We will place a special emphasis on rehabilitation of victims and will support ongoing rehabilitation projects in various disaster areas.

Focus
Keeping in tune with its concept of "Self-help rather than welfare dependence" TheGct.org will focus on funding projects that enable long-term economic development. We will support projects that reflect this vision and typically focus on leveraging indigenous methods and modern techniques to improve both living and economic conditions of the affected areas.

Typical Rehabilitation Projects
• Organize psychiatric counseling for the victims
• Construction of villages with all amenities (houses, community centers, parks and schools) in disaster areas
• Provide means of employment that are applicable to disaster areas
• Monetary support for running educational institutions, free instruction to children who became orphans
• Orphanage homes for destitute children and women
